Hi all,

I'm a new user and have been using Traktor for a while now. I'm not very happy with the bpm recognition, there are even simple 4-on-the-floor tunes it can't recognize. It's high quality but not very forgiving. I'm thinking about getting involved with creating my own rig and am looking for a flexible software environment that I can tweak &/or write for in the future. I'm running on a Macbook Pro and I have some experience with Java and Basic, what would y'all recommend as far as tight beatmatching and creativity are concerned?

Are you using Traktor Pro? You should be able to make Beat Grids for your tunes and not worry about bpm detection.
