Session View Effect Changes?

I have a few tracks in session view... Drums and bass, and effects...
But I am also running a microphone and a guitar into two different tracks...

Was wondering if it is possible to have the effects (VSTs) change depending on whats in the session view?
Another words have the guitar effects change over time... Without clicking guitar rig.

Ummmm.... I htink what you mean is to have control over whatever is in foucs in session view?

If so then this is generally known as control surface functionality, what midi controller are you using? Maybe we can help out?

(I'm hoping APC40 because the answers really simple if i've understood the question?)
