Hi Controllerists,
My name is Mudo and I'm a Active Controllerist Researcher who try to find all these "gadgets" and solutions to do our lifes more confortable...

Today I start sharing my latest ideas about diy controllers at low price possible and less work possible too...

Let's start:

First of all you may consider to purchase one of these stuff
- http://www.doepfer.de/home_e.htm (click at oem)

Or make one from nothing...

But maybe you will consider this one:
http://www.leobodnar.com/

the cheaper BUO836 has 32 button, hat switch, 8 axis (for lineal encoders such as faders) and usb full compatibility...
the new release BUO836X has 32 button (without matrix), 8 position hat switch, 8 axis (analog) and 16 rotary digital encoders (woow) with full usb connection and easy connect...

yeah!

but... What we do with them?

For example!

Sorry Mudo, What hell is the Led Colored Keyboard at second pic?

well, this is the new Lixium Luxeed keyboard.

wow!

This is like a monome (at middle price) with a lot of keys and usb like keyboard!
well... because it is a keyboard...

Monome:

This is awesome! I'll be frequenting this thread often, as I love DIY projects, especially related to music. That Luxeed Keyboard is stunning... and now I have to have one. When is someone going to program it to work like the Monome? It's highly possible I would think, and could prove even cooler considering one can change the colors  :o

I'm wondering the possibility to write an article like this one:
http://www.turntablog.skratch.es/2008/10/abletonserato-por-mudo/

but talking about DIY midi (or OSC) projects.

I hope you enjoy it and sorry if it is in Spanish...

Peace

two questions about this luxeed keyboard:

1: can you buy just.. well. one? when hitting the shop it says 14.400 for 100 units, but i only need 1 unit. also: how much are just one unit then? i doubt its 14.400/100, because im pretty sure you get them cheaper the more you buy.

aaand 2: it has a instant 4 preset system. anyone knows if these presets works as indipendent keyboards? because if they did you could have 4 presets set up where one controls your clips etc, one controls midi functions (mutes, gates, delays, arps, transpose etc), one controls audio effects and one controls basic DAW functions like start, stop, record, insert marker etc..

that would be so awesome.
ofcourse it can be done using 4 keyboards and glovepie but the disadvantage is that you need to repaint your keyboard every time you reprogram your template, you need 4 usb ports, you need to learn to script with glovepie and you also need to run glovepie in the background.

so yeah, anyone have an answer to these two questions? especially the second one. that would so rock.

The First: near 150 € include purchase it from uk and sending to Spain. Other way is purchasing directly to Korea...

Second: I'm not sure if the preset changes the message... but I'm trying to hack it to use with macbook (it is only windows driver) and maybe is possible to do the "bank" hack (like ocean eleven hehe)... but don't worry... use it as monome and give a Leobodnar to make the mute solo rec buttons in the top of this...

muahahahahahahaha :D
